Stress Management Program

Overwhelmed?

Most of us know that stress can effect our health. The fight or flight response can be useful in threatening situations, but it backfires on our body when we are under chronic stress.

Some effects of negative stress:

  • Increased blood pressure
  • Blood sugar rises
  • Blood clotting factors rise
  • Insulin production decreases
  • Increased cholesterol
  • Bone formation decrease
  • Bowel and bladder control decrease
  • Impairs memory
  • Muscle tension
  • Headaches
  • Impaired sleep

But too often, the stress factor is overloocked.

Is it lack of time – or lack of energy?

Sometimes chronic stress can drain our energy. It takes energy to use the time. So, we feel like we don’t have enought time. We can’t add time to the day, but what if we could add energy?

Stress is treatable!

The good news is, research has not only figured out what we all knew, that stress affects our physical and mental health. Research has also come a long way in finding proven ways to improve our ability to deal with stress.

That is why Self Care Therapy has developed a stress management program, based on the latest research and neuroscience.

There is hope!

The Stress management program

The program usually lasts 6 weeks. We begin with identifying problems. Assessments are done at the biginning and end to measure progress. Including Bio-feedback technology measuring heart coherence. (A way to measure the ability to lower negative stress)

You will have tailored assignments to work on between the weekly sessions. We track progress and problem solve together.

Each week will have a theme. You will learn scientifically based strategies and how to implement them in your life.

Methods:

  • Bio Feedback
  • Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
  • Lifestyle Coaching
  • Time-management techniques
  • Breathing techniques
  • Emotional Coping strategies.
