Meet Our Staff

Payton St.Louis, Front Office Manager

Payton is the newest member of the Self Care Therapy team. With experience in both customer service and medical reception, she brings a strong background in helping people feel welcomed and supported. Patients will quickly notice Payton’s passion for providing care and creating a positive experience at the front desk.

Outside the clinic, Payton enjoys being involved in her church, spending time with her family, and playing with her dog.

Connie Ammann

OTR, CLT

A Licenced Occupational Therapist and Certified Lymphedema Therapist. She works fulltime for Self Care Therapy Inc. providing excellent therapy services. Connie graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Occupational Therapy in 1998 from Baker College in Flint, MI, and became Certified in Lymphedema Therapy in August of 2009. She has worked in various areas of rehabilitation including Skilled Nursing, Inpatient Rehabilitation, and Homehealth.  She enjoys working with her patients and their families in order to increase independence and return them to their previous life roles.  Her biggest priority and joy is her two boys and husband.

Lauren Jones

COTA

Board-certified and licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant who graduated from Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington, NC.
Lauren plays a vital role in treating Lymphedema and has served in this setting since 2022.
She has worked in healthcare for over 10 years, primarily working with the senior population in settings varying from memory care, skilled nursing and home health.
She is passionate about helping people to achieve independence and reach their goals.
When not working, she enjoys time outdoors, working out, and spending time with her two children.

Jenna Stanton

COTA

Jenna joined our team in 2024 when she became a Licensed Occupational Therapy assistant. She graduated from Cape Fear Community College, Wilmington, NC. She plays a vital role in the treatment of Lymphedema. Jenna is passionate, quick to learn, and has picked up rapidly on how we work as a team to improve the lives of our clients. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and dog and traveling.

Monica Morrison

OTR

Monica is a Licensed Occupational Therapist who graduated with a Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy from Misericordia University in Dallas, PA. Monica started at Self Care Therapy as a level II graduate student who then moved on to develop her clinical skills in additional settings including Outpatient Pediatrics and Hand Therapy. She has returned to Self Care Therapy as a Licensed OT to help empower individuals to make healthy life choices, promote independence, and improve quality of life. Outside of work, she enjoys practicing yoga, going for runs, playing volleyball, and spending time with friends and family.

Lou Erkstam, Office Manager

Co-owner of Self Care Therapy together with her husband Robert. She handles billing and bookkeeping. Lou grew up in Rose Hill, North Carolina and lives in Wilmington. When she is not in the office, she takes care of their eight children.

Leanne Granger, Intake Coordinator

Leanne will contact you to set up your first appointment, verify your insurance, and keep everything in order. She works remotely from her home in Maryland. When not working, she enjoys time with her family.

Robert Erkstam

OTR, CLT – LANA

Robert and his wife, Lou, are the owners of Self Care Therapy, Inc.  Robert and Lou have eight children (yes, we are blessed).  Robert is a native of Sweden, where he received his bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy in 1998. In 2000, Robert and Lou moved to Wilmington, NC, where they now live and work. Robert has worked in various settings, including Traumatic Brain Injury Rehabilitation, Habilitation, Short-term rehabilitation at nursing facilities, and home health. Robert and Lou started up Self Care Therapy Inc. in 2005 after seeing a growing need for Occupational therapy and Lymphedema therapy services. Robert became Certified in Lymphedema Therapy in 2004 and has enjoyed using this method to help patients with chronic swelling. Robert is LANA-certified and trained in Life Coaching.
